The Bayside Barracudas Blue Year 9/10 Boys produced a strong second-half performance to secure an impressive 32–10 victory over Urangan High in their catch-up Round 1 fixture.

The opening half proved challenging, with the Barracudas battling into the wind and facing a determined Urangan side. Conditions made handling difficult at times, leading to some early errors, while Urangan capitalised with long, effective kicking to apply pressure.

Despite this, fullback Jezra Tobane provided a steady presence at the back, safely fielding high balls and returning them with purpose to help relieve pressure and gain valuable metres. His efforts, along with the team’s resilience, helped the Barracudas head into halftime with a narrow 8–4 lead.

Following a focused halftime address from Coach Carter, the Barracudas returned to the field with renewed energy and intent. The second half saw a complete shift in momentum, with the boys delivering a dominant display in both attack and defence. Improved ball control and adherence to structure allowed the Barracudas to build pressure, resulting in a series of well-earned tries.

The team’s defensive resolve also lifted, limiting Urangan’s opportunities while maintaining control of field position. Their ability to execute consistently and play to their structure proved decisive as they powered away to a convincing 32–10 win.
