Match Summary

The girls had a dominant start to the day with a strong performance against Sandgate High. The Barracudas showcased solid defence and scored some great tries out wide. Sandgate featured mobile forwards and fast backs, but credit to the Barracudas girls, who consistently shut down their attacking opportunities.

The team’s line speed was a major improvement, applying constant pressure and preventing Sandgate from gaining momentum throughout the match.

Standout Performers

Mikayla Otto
Had a strong game at fullback, making several effective kick returns and strong runs throughout the match. Mikayla’s defence was outstanding, highlighted by a brilliant cover tackle that forced the Sandgate winger into touch.

Lilly Sloan
Lilly once again led from the front with her strong carries, making plenty of metres for the team. Her defence was a standout, with several powerful tackles that left the opposition reluctant to run her way.

Amelie Staib
Amelie delivered a great all-round performance, making strong post-contact metres and helping the Barracudas gain valuable field position. Her defence was superb, with several strong one-on-one tackles throughout the game.

Emma Bowerman
Had an excellent game at halfback, providing quality ball service to her teammates. Emma displayed a strong all-round performance in both attack and defence, earning Player of the Match honours from the Dolphins staff.
